Nadine Govender

Coach’s Thoughts:  Nadine has consistently shown incredible dedication and determination in her fitness journey. She is always willing to push herself to new limits, often showing up on Sundays to put in extra work, even when she’s on her own. This level of commitment is truly inspiring! Balancing her work and student responsibilities, Nadine is still finding time to focus on her health and fitness which is a testament to her incredible strength and resilience.

  1. How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I started CrossFit in February 2023. When I first moved to the US, I initially had a membership at LA Fitness. However, I felt like it was not the right fit for me. That’s when Will and Marissa suggested I try CrossFit, and I have been hooked ever since!

  2. Favorite Movement?

My favorite movements are definitely deadlifts and power cleans. There's something so satisfying about lifting heavy weights.

  3. What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?

Focus on the fun and variety that CrossFit offers. It’s not just a workout, but an experience that changes every day. You’ll never get bored because there's always something new to try, whether it's a different movement or a challenging WOD. Plus, you’ll learn so much about your own strengths and capabilities, and that’s incredibly empowering. Give it a shot, and you might find yourself enjoying it more than you ever expected!

  4. Favorite thing about CCF?

My favorite thing about CCF is the genuine support and encouragement from everyone in the gym. The coaches and fellow members create such a positive and motivating atmosphere, where it feels like we’re all cheering each other on to reach our goals.

  5. What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?

When I’m not at CCF, it’s mostly work and studying for me. I’m in the process of discovering what I truly enjoy and exploring new hobbies. It’s been a fun journey so far—I've been hiking, taking a few jiu-jitsu classes, and trying out yoga and Pilates. I also love watching movies and playing video games in my downtime.

  6. What is your next big fitness goal?

My next big fitness goal is to boost my endurance so I can tackle longer WODs with more intensity. I’m also aiming to achieve toes-to-bar and pull-ups.
