Week 2 Update
We would be remiss if we jumped into our update without acknowledging what is going on in the country right now. We stand with the black community: our future members, our neighbors and the broader community. We are allies in the fight against racism, injustice and underrepresentation. Black Lives Matter. We are so focused on building this gym to be open and inclusive for everyone but we don’t know everything. If you have ideas on how we can do more, we’re all ears.

Affiliate Approval:
The survey from last week was overwhelmingly in favor of Core City CrossFit. So, we spent some this week going back and forth with CrossFit HQ on the name. Here’s where we ended up:
Core City CrossFit (in Carlsbad, NM) just gave up their affiliate last month
CrossFit will not relicense that name for six months, therefore the Core City CrossFit name will not be up for consideration to relicense until November 2020
We want to affiliate now so that we’ll be able to use the word CrossFit on our website, show up on the CrossFit affiliate page and also so we’ll be able to do the open this fall!
We will finish the affiliate process now as PowerPlant CrossFit and submit a name change for Core City CrossFit in November
Until then...we will be: Core City Fitness, home of PowerPlant CrossFit
Thank you to everyone who gave us feedback on the name!!
