Coach’s Thoughts: Cheryl’s laugh is infectious and she makes every class better just by being in it. She has been doing this for almost 10 years and is still hitting PR’s and achieving new skills! We’re so lucky to have you at CCF and if you catch us staring...that’s just us admiring a beautiful and powerful squat : )
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I was an avid runner looking for some sort of cross training. The gym I joined became a CrossFit affiliate so I started CrossFit in the fall of 2012 sort of by accident. It’s been a great accident!
Favorite Movement?
Anything that involves a barbell
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
You have nothing to lose so go for it! It is truly for all ages & abilities. You can modify anything & you will do things you never thought you could. You will also make lifelong friends. It’s awesome!
Favorite thing about CCF?
The community & the coaching. The community is welcoming & very supportive. It’s so fun to work out with your friends. The coaching is really outstanding. I am constantly impressed by their knowledge & patience.
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
I am a civil engineer & manage construction projects for work. My boyfriend & I spend as much free time as possible at my lake house up north. I love being outside & enjoy stand up paddle boarding, kayaking & disc golfing. I am also an avid curler in the winter months.
What is your next big fitness goal?
I mostly just try to fit in my jeans, but thanks to great coaching, I am on the verge of stringing my toes to bar together in workouts.
