November 2022 Athlete of the Month
Coach’s Thoughts:
I would say Jared is a “sleeper” athlete at CCF. Alway coming in under the radar on the Whiteboard and working hard every second in the gym. He has some big shoes to fill since his father Denis Lincoln is always crushing it and leading the way. Jared brings a bright mentality and positive attitude every morning and believes the best warm ups are accomplished by running in a circle. I do not think I have ever seen him without a smile on his face. Congrats Jared on AOTM and thanks for being such a huge part of our community.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Got started doing it when I was going through the Navy recruitment process. It was great programming to get prepped and ready for everything that was to come. Formally got into Crossfit at a Crossfit gym about 4-5 years ago (I think?)!
Favorite Movement?
They're all equally humbling movements and I would assume that "Cardio" doesn't count as a movement. I would say it is likely a tie between snatches and cleans! One day I'll figure out how to make them "one fluid movement" and not two disjointed movements.
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
Everything is designed to be scaled!!!!!!! We all cannot do something (or many things if you're me ) so please please please do not be afraid to say "I don't think I can do that movement, weight, amount of work, etc."
Favorite thing about CCF?
The community and the people! I bounced around A LOT of CrossFit gyms trying to find one that fit me and I fit them, CCF is one of a kind and it's definitely all due to the people in the gym and the community y'all create. If I have never said this before, thank you for welcoming me in and always making me feel at home in the gym!
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
I have a mortgage brokerage that is located in Royal Oak and we are licensed in 9 states, so if anyone (or anyone you know) needs a mortgage... Hit me up!!! (Or Dave!!! Dave works at Quicken and is phenomenal!!) Enjoy hangin' with friends and family, sporting events, and trying to keep up with all of my dogs 9 psychotic personalities! I guess I really don't "do" a lot as I am writing this down
What is your next big fitness goal?
The dork in me would say "Woof! Try not to snap in half?! ." Realistically, I'm just trying to have fun with it and RX as much as I can in each workout!
