October 2022 Athlete of the Month
Coach’s Thoughts: Jeremy is one of our die hard, consistent 5:30am members. He is a pleasure to have in class. As soon as he walks through the CCF doors, Jeremy is laser focused for the entire hour - pushing himself and asking questions on how he can be better. Congrats Jeremy and keep up the hard work!
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I first started in CrossFit three years ago when my family lived in Ypsi. COVID and moving to Detroit provided a fitness detour. A little over a year ago I joined CCF and have enjoyed it since.
Favorite Movement?
Rowing is something I enjoy doing. Being tall doesn’t hurt with rowing!
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
Give yourself small and achievable goals to start and work up from there. When I first started I began with going once a week for a month and then twice a week for a month, etc. Being kind to yourself is also helpful when starting.
Favorite thing about CCF?
The people! The coaches are wonderful and the 5:30 AM crew couldn’t be better.
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
I work at a small Detroit-based company during the day. A few of my colleagues are members at CCF. I also have a 1.5 year old daughter that keeps my wife and I pretty occupied. CrossFit is my main fitness squeeze.
What is your next big fitness goal?
Improving my gymnastics technique has been a goal of mine for awhile. I am not naturally good at any of those movements so I want to continually improve them.
