August 2022 Athlete of the Month
Coach’s Thoughts:
Abe is super coachable and always arrives with a mindset to do better than yesterday. Abe seeks out opportunities to improve his over fitness by challenging himself with new goals. He also brings a great competitiveness to CCF by pushing others to out lift him in big movements such as the bench press or strict press. It’s been a pleasure coaching Abe and experiencing not only his fitness wins but learning about some of his personal successes. Congrats buddy!
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I first did CrossFit from 2018-2019. I took a break from it when I began law school which was not a good decision. I picked it back up when I joined CCF in April of 2021. A little over a year at CCF, and I could not be happier to be doing CrossFit again and to be doing it within our CCF community.
Favorite Movement?
Strict Press
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
That it is way more inclusive than you might think, and that the coaches, programming, and community will help you work harder and more effectively than you probably ever would on your own.
Favorite thing about CCF?
6:30 pm class. All of the work with chill vibes and more coaching.
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
Outside of 6:30 pm at CCF, I can be found playing basketball, cooking, or exploring the Detroit restaurant scene with my wife (and fellow CCF member) Clare.
What is your next big fitness goal?
To be able to do TTB Rx during workouts
