February 2021 Athlete of the Month
Coach’s Thoughts: Tommy has been with us since the very beginning, joining for outdoor workouts at the track before we even opened our building. It’s been so fun to watch his progress from on ramp to regularly rxing workouts and picking up new skills in no time. Tommy works so hard and almost always with a smile (except when Sheridan is yelling at him to bike faster). Congratulations Tommy!!!
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started doing CrossFit over the summer when CCF was having weekly workouts on Saturday. I was a little hesitant at first but thankfully Sheridan got me to go.
Favorite Movement?
My favorite movement is probably the power clean. I also like front squats and non-hand release pushups.
What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to start CrossFit?
It may seem hard, but it is actually a lot of fun. If you like to workout and you like dogs, I think this will be the right place for you.
Favorite thing about CCF?
My favorite thing is probably being able to workout in a group setting rather than individually. I also like partner workouts and all the dogs.
What do you do when you’re not at CCF (job, hobbies, other fitness, etc)?
I am a med student at Wayne State so right now my hobbies consist of studying. I have 2 cats as well that demand a lot of attention.
What is your next big fitness goal?
I want to do a bar muscle up and later down the line be able to handstand walk.
